i had bought a new dvd writer. i wrote some stuff from my hard drive to a dvd. when i tried to access the dvd through my dvd rom it said "please enter a disc". however when i tried to access the dvd through my writer i had no problem. i then tried to write the disk using UDF format and UDF/ISO format but to no avail (I used ISO format for the first attempt). i also had tried using level 1 ISO

There are two types of dvd recordable discs. DVD-R (called 'minus r') and DVD+R (called 'plus r'). Some dvd-rom drives cannot read DVD+R , but they can read DVD-R. If you have used DVD+R discs, this could be the cause of your problem. Use the other type.
