A process called rmiservice.exe has suddenly started maxing out my CPU every 10 seconds or so.

The system is W2K server with all recent service packs, updates, etc. We are using Computer Associates anti-virus.

I can't end the process. The IT dept has the server right now but I'd like to know if anything is known about this.

Has anyone seen this before?

I think we solved the issue. After scouring the server for Malware we found dozens of likely candidates that may have hijacked the rmiserver.exe process.

After removing all the junk, rmiserver.exe seems to be working normally.
