Hi Hazjack and welcome to GeeksToGo! My name is Excal and I will be helping you.

You may have the latest version of VX2. Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:
  • One
    Two
  • Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe.
  • Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop.
  • Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!
Note; if you recieve any error messages for CMD or Autoexec.bat>> select option 5 from the l2mfix and once at the site, click on the link that apply to your operating system!
Double-click the file it downloads and extract the files to its predetermined System32 folder!

Please post the L2MFix log.

Great. You must be up working too.

I modified my previous post and ran the requested l2mfix and pasted it in (see Above)...just in case someone was awake too--its pushing midnight here...I could fix this quickly.

Of course I am up, there are people to help....lol!

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.
  • From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter
  • Press any key to reboot your computer.
  • After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log.
  • Copy the contents of log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log, and we'll clean up what's left. :tazz:
IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

ok, either you didn't paste the whole log, or it didn't work correctly.

I assume it didn't work correctly, so if thats the case.

:tazz:

after it reboot and no logs popsup, open the L2M folder and double click on second.bat.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

I would say no longer than ten minutes. If it doesn't do anything. Open the L2m Folder and double click on second.bat

Thanks,

Ran #2 3 times---no log popped up and then ran it 2 more times clicking on second bat. It sat with no icons for at least an hour and nothing popped up.

So last log I could find dated closet to now is the following:

were gonna have to do it manually :tazz:

Download and install CleanUp! Here*NOTE* Cleanup deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders and does not make backups.
We will use this program later.

Please read this post completely, it may make it easier for you if you copy and paste this post to a new text document or print it for reference later.

boot into safe mode
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Run the program CleanUp!

Open up and run Ewido:
  • Click on scanner
