I recently removed some kind of Javascript virus. I should have written it down -- it had a very long name. I'm not even sure that was the culprit, but it all seemed to start when I had several programs running at once, and the system froze. Then the desktop disappeared, except for my background image. I repaired Windows XP, and then my network driver was gone, but the desktop was back. I reinstalled the network driver and was back online. For some time, I kept rebooting to find the mouse not working, but resolved that issue. Then I had to reinstall Norton. Now everything seems relatively okay except that my startup is painfully slow, so slow that I suspect something may still be in the system. I ran all the suggested tools, but none detected anything as far as I could tell.

Oops, I thought I had done so. Here it is with just AOL and Norton running. I am also not able to install the latest Windows XP update, and other bizarre occurrences, such as my control panel will not function properly at times. I am quite sure something is happening. I've run everything. I will scan again tonight but have tried numerous times, and nothing turns up.

thats a startup list , what I need is the actualy HiJackthis log.

When you open HiJackthis. You should get an option to scan and save a log. Thats what I need.

Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.
