Back from all of my wild vacationing. My cousins have been using the computer and I don't know what else might have been infected since the last few logs. My uncle added another 256 MB stick of RAM in the computer and that's boosted the performance A LOT. I still don't understand why Dell makes their computers with so little memory for WinXP systems. Other than the fact they make so much money when you upgrade... :tazz:

The computer is cleaned up a lot more than when we first started. He ran AdAware the other night and only came up with 1 problem. Quite a turn-around.

Reboot into safe mode.

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

  • Click on scanner
  • Click Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
  • During the scan when it ask if you want to clean the first file, put a check in the lower left corner of the box that says "Perform action on all infections" then choose clean and click OK
  • When the scan is finished, look at the bottom of the screen and click the Save report button.
  • Save the report to your desktop
Close Ewido

Please remove the following folders using Windows Explorer (if present):

C:\Program Files\Common Files\rkqw
C:\Program Files\tvs

Please remove just the files from the following paths using Windows Explorer (if present):

C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\m67m.inf

When I login to another User account (one of my cousins' accounts, instead of my uncle's) it says IBIS Toolbar is trying to install. Other than that I can't see any visible effects of anything else going on. Do I need to run HJT logs on each User account or is just using the main one, my uncle's, okay?

There's 4 User accounts total, not including Administrator (which I can only see when I reboot in Safe Mode). I've been running all the scans on my uncle's User account. There's my two cousins and my aunt as well.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get it all done while there. We solved most of the problems and I showed my cousin this web site and what scans she'll need to run in order to produce logs. Thanks for all your help Excal. I really appreciate you sticking it out. :tazz:
