Your HJT log is the almost the same as it was before the fix. This is because you have SpywareGuard installed and running in real-time. Please disable SpywareGuard and it is then almost a repeat of the previous fix.

Rescan with HijackThis. Close all programmes leaving only HijackThis running. Place a checkmark or tick against the following:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://216.130.185.122/sidesearch.html
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://216.130.185.122/sidesearch.html
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

My apologies for not spotting that initially; I must have been having a senior moment.

Post a fresh HJT log and I'll take another look.

Just the one entry to correct which doesn't appear to be responding correctly to HJT. This the other way:

From the Start menu, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.

Note: In Windows XP, from the start menu, click Control Panel.

From the Control Panel, double-click Internet Options.

From the Programs tab, click to select Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default.

Click Reset Web Settings.

From the Reset Web Settings dialog box, click to clear Also reset my home page, and then click Yes.

Click OK.

Click Apply, and then click OK.

Rescan with HijackThis. Close all programmes leaving only HijackThis running. Place a checkmark or tick against the following:

O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Reboot.

May I request one more HJT log for evaluation please?

Sorry about this, but I have just noticed that Ewido is also running in real-time, thus stopping your registry from being changed.

Please disable Ewido for the fix, and then it's the same again. If that entry is there in the fresh HJT log afterwards, we are going to have to run Silent Runners to find the hook that keeps it there.

Rescan with HijackThis. Close all programmes leaving only HijackThis running. Place a checkmark or tick against the following:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://216.130.185.122/sidesearch.html
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://216.130.185.122/sidesearch.html
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Post back a fresh HijackThis log and I will take another look.

With the exception of the 014 entry, which incidentally is a remnant of a previous infection which is resolved, your log is clean.

The entry itself is totally harmless, but on this occasion totally stubborn. I do not see a problem with your programme list or any other part of your log.

I am a little concerned to note that Kaspersky is no longer running according to your logs, and that its launch programme has its file missing. If you are not able to use Kaspersky, please install AVG ANTIVIRUS for free.

For the sake of another 10 posts getting us nowhere, I am going to declare your PC as clean, provided that Huntbar is no longer an issue.

First let me thank you for the help that you have given to me.
Now the problem that I started this thead with has of yet to be address and that is the removal of HUNTBAR.
KAV was not running because I have found that unless you disable all programs antivirus also HiJackThis will not remove all programs.
This HuntBar thing is a pain and there should be a way to delete it and keep it off ones system, it seems that the only two programs that detects it is SpyBot and Adware Plus, but they do not remove them either.

Is Huntbar visible in Internet Explorer? If so open IE and click on VIEW>TOOLBARS and uncheck it, or remove any checkmark next to a blank space.

Often these toolbars get left behind when someone deletes entries rather than uninstalling programmes.

Do you have any other users on this PC?

You could try this link for more info: http://securityrespo....websearch.html

Where is the Huntbar? What are the effects of it? Can you post a screnshot?
