I was trying to fix my friends pc, by doing a repair install. It installed succesfully although it couldnt find the graphics driver, but i thought thats not a problem as i can install it later.

The thing is after the repair install completed the computer restarted as normal, but failed to boot. a warnig came up saying that windows has got a serious error, if this is the first time it has happened to the computer then check for viruses etc.

now i cant get into his computer as it doesnt let me boot. what can i do? I was thinking of checking his hard disk for viruses by adding to my own computer as secondary drive and scanning it, do you think this will help? or would i have 2 repeat the repair install again?

please help

thanx

Thanx 4 replying, i will try the things you have mentioned later on and will post the outcome.

I forgot to mention that windows doesnt boot in safe mode, the same error occurs. also before I did the rapir install, system restore didnt work, so now that I have performed a repair install, does this mean that system restore will work again? also will it still allow me to go into command prompt?

thanx
