Hey guys,

I'm hoping someone may be able to help me!!

I have got problems with word 2000 on my Dad's computer...

Since a disk that had previously been used on a communal computer was put into his PC and a Word file opened there have been continual problems with Word 2000.

Certain files are described :) as being 'locked for editing'. Oftern when you try to save files or exit Word it says that normal.doc has been changed-do you want to save these changes-I always choose 'no'. Also it often says that the global template has been changed and again I always choose not to save the changes. Sometimes the computer will crash altogether and odd blue screens have appeared!! :)

The origins of the original disk are unknown but it had been in many computers. Other disks now seem to become affected by the same sort of problems when they have been used in my Dad's machine. I think his operating system is Windows 98 but it is word 2000.

This has been going on for about a year now. :)

Any thoughts would be hugely appreciated :tazz:

Please go to the malware forum in my signature and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
