A friends son began playing Guild wars last week, today she was notified by her bank that her account has dropped below $100. After investigation, she found that she was charged almost $400 by ige.com, for warcraft.

Her concern is that someone has infiltrated her computer, while her son was playing.

Possible or not, anyone know, or have similar issues?

Ige.com said that her name and address were used with her debit card number, so she's liable for the charges.

Thanks

She should contact the poilce, credit fraud is against the law. She may also be able to claim from her insurance if she has a police report.

Guild Wars does not require a monthly fee in order to play, making the title unique among high-profile MMORPGs.

If she had no firewall on her computer it could have been very possible that someone hacked her.

You might also want to check out what was bought: the son might have downloadede the client and bought a $50 account with her credit card. He might have also gone on a spending spree after he bought the account.

A credit card in a youngling's hands equals disaster...especially if they still call it a 'money card.' :-Z
