First thing I would do is go into device manager and expand all the entries and write down the device names on a piece of paper, or print them. Why? Because win98 will have trouble identifying the devices on a newer motherboard and you will need to go to the motherboard mfrs. or device mfrs. to download the drivers. That is, if you don't have a disk for the motherboard will all the drivers. Finding all the drivers can be a hassle, agravated by not knowing what the devices are.

You can use any computer to make a boot floppy at

www.allbootdisks.com or

www.bootdisk.com

put it in the computer and boot with it with cd-rom support. You will need to open fdisk first, just type that in at the command prompt and hit Enter. Remove the older partition, make a new one, after you've exited fdsik type in format and enter yes for all the prompts.

Now put in your cd-rom and access it. With the allbootdisks floppy the drive letter will be R:

You should be able to type in R:\setup, or whatever the drive letter is, and setup should start. It might be R:\win98\setup, but different makers use different setups so I can't tell you with any certainty.

Hope that helps you.
