Hi realtime, welcome to GeeksToGo

Before we take care of your redirection problem, we need to fix another one which can cause you to lose internet access.

A malicious .DLL file is disrupting the LSP chain on your computer. We need to get rid of it.
  • Please download LSPFix from here.
  • Run the LSPFix.exe that you have just finished downloading.
  • Check the I know what I'm doing box.
  • In the Keep box you should see one or more instances of osmim.dll.
  • Select every instance of osmim.dll and move each one to the Remove box by clicking the >> button.
  • When you are done click Finish>>.
Next, to Get rid of NewDotNet, go to:

Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and remove the following:

New.Net Applications or New.Net Domains (anything that says New.Net)

If it is not there, go here and follow Procedure 4: NewDotNet Removal Procedure 4.

In the event that you lose Internet access after removing New.Net, please double-click LSPFix.exe that you downloaded earlier. You will see 2 panels. If there is any file listed in the "Remove" panel on the right-side, leave it as is and just click "Finish>>" then reboot your computer and you should now have access to the Internet. If nothing is listed under the "Remove Panel", do NOT do anything - just close the program. You will need to use another computer to come back here for further instructions on what to do.

Hello Armodeluxe, thanks for getting back to me. I've downloaded and run LSPFix and found no 'osmim.dll' files. I did find these .dll files in the keep box.

mswsock.dll Tcpip
winmr.dll NTDS
rsvpsp.dll (Protocol handler)

I've left them alone.

I have removed Net.new domains, the only net.new thingo I found.

I have already sent a fast reply but was not sure if that was the correct way to get back to you so I hope I haven't doubled up.

Cheers Realtime

Hi realtime,

Firstly, one question. Do you play the Minesweeper game? There is one file in your running processes
C:\WINDOWS\system32\winmine.exe
This could belong to that game or could be something malicious, let me know.

While TeaTimer is an excellent tool for the prevention of spyware, it can sometimes prevent HijackThis from fixing certain things.
Please disable TeaTimer for now until you are clean. TeaTimer can be re-activated once your HijackThis log is clean.
  • Open Spybot Search & Destroy.
  • In the Mode menu click "Advanced mode" if not already selected.
  • Choose "Yes" at the Warning prompt.
  • Expand the "Tools" menu.
  • Click "Resident".
  • Uncheck the "Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of overall system settings) active." box.
  • In the File menu click "Exit" to exit Spybot Search & Destroy.
Run HijackThis and click Scan. Put a check next to these:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = C:\WINDOWS\System32\msblank.html
O2 - BHO: DownloadRedirect Class - {00000000-6CB0-410C-8C3D-8FA8D2011D0A} - C:\Program Files\iMesh\iMesh5\iMeshBHO.dll
O2 - BHO: C:\WINDOWS\lbbho.dll - {11ED8B10-2AA8-4A84-AB58-C8848A48A6DC} - C:\WINDOWS\lbbho.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ControlPanel] C:\WINDOWS\System32\popcorn72.exe rundll.dll,LoadMouseProfile
O16 - DPF: {15AD4789-CDB4-47E1-A9DA-992EE8E6BAD6} - http://public.windup...3aadbd5a5435cd9
O16 - DPF: {1D6711C8-7154-40BB-8380-3DEA45B69CBF} (Web P2P Installer) -

Close all other windows except HijackThis and click Fix Checked.

Reboot to safe mode by tapping the F8 key just before Windows starts to load.

Once in safe mode, go to Control Panel Add/Remove Programs and uninstall these:

iMesh
iMesh ads support.

Then delete these folders and files:

C:\Program Files\iMesh
C:\WINDOWS\System32\msblank.html
C:\WINDOWS\System32\popcorn72.exe

Reboot back to normal mode. Go here and make an online scan, let it delete what it can and save the results as a text file.

http://www.pandasoft...com/activescan/

Then post a new log along with the Panda results, but please paste them instead of attaching.

Regards,

Armodeluxe

Hi realtime

That log looks clean to me..

I'll point a few things and you're good to go..

You are running an older version of Java. Not as important, but Adobe Acrobat version is old too. To update Java, and clear its cache,

1. Click Start > Control Panel.

2. Double-click the Java icon (coffee cup) in the control panel. It will say "Java Plug-in" under the icon - please find the update button or tab in that Java control panel. Update your Java, and reboot.

After reboot, go back into the Control Panel and double-click the Java icon.

3. Under Temporary Internet Files, click the Delete Files button.

There are three options on this window to clear the cache - leave ALL 3 checked.
1. Downloaded Applets
2. Downloaded Applications
3. Other Files

4. Click OK on Delete Temporary Files window.
Note: This deletes ALL the Downloaded Applications and Applets from the CACHE.

5. Click OK to leave the Java Control Panel.

Now the most important thing to update is your Windows. You should download SP2. Just go to Windows Update for that.

Please take the following into consideration to maintain a clean computer.

I'm not sure if your Norton Internet Security includes a firewall. If not, you can pick one of these, they are all free.
Kerio
Zonealarm
Sygate

Visit Windows Update regularly to get the latest security updates. You can also enable automatic updates.Your antivirus software and antispyware programs should also be updated regularly. Make a habit of running scans on a timely basis. Be careful about what you download, scan every file before clicking on it.

Additional programs to consider:

Spywareblaster Prevents the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted software.Blocks spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.Restricts the actions of potentially unwanted sites in Internet Explorer.
Spywareguard An anti-virus program scans files before you open them and prevents execution if a virus is detected - SpywareGuard does the same thing, but for spyware!
IE/Spyad
