Let me start by telling you that I think this is a great and informative service your providing and I thank you for your help.
I had the "Aurora (bsisnqixm.exe)"and "abetterinternet" problem which was detected by my ZoneAlarm firewall. I also noticed that from time to time the McAfee virus scan would be disabled. then virus scan detected "C:winnt\system32\yrfvww.exe is infected by Downloader-ABS trojan". I quarentined it then deleted it, but it seemed to keep comeing back.
I have followed the "Please Read this before Posting" Instructions, and for now I'm not getting any"aurora" alerts and the trojan isnt being detected anymore. But i'm afraid it still may be lurking somewhere imbedding itself somewhere. my PC was getting slower and slower, and programmes and aplications were freezing up on me alot. Could you take a look at my Hijack this logfile and let me know what else I should do. I trully appreciate your help!

First I need you to download and prepare some tools that we will need to remove the infection that you have.

• Please download Ewido Security Suite
  • Install ewido security suite
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..
    • Install background guard
    • Install scan via context menu
  • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
  • You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
    • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
    • Then click on Start Update.
  • The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
    (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
  • Exit ewido. DO NOT scan yet.
  If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.

• Please download CleanUp
  Install it, but do not run it yet.
  
  
• Please download Nailfix Utility
  Save it to your desktop, but do not run it yet.
  
  
• Please download dsrfix.zip
  Save it to your desktop.
  • Unzip dsrfix.zip and extract it to your desktop.
  • This will create a new folder on your desktop named dsrfix.
  • Do Not open that folder yet.
• Please download APT and unzip the contents to a new folder on your desktop.

Now that you have the right tools we can start fixing your problem.

** Important - Please Read Carefully **
The file in this next step can change names frequently. However you can easily recognize it in your hijackthis log. It will show up as an 04 line that ends in a lower case letter r. Please verify the file name in that line and substitute it in this next step if it has changed.

• Open the folder you just created for APT and click on apt.exe and search in the window for zotgdmv.exe.
• Open your C:\Windows\system32 folder and search for zotgdmv.exe.
  Don't delete it yet, just leave the system32 folder open so you can see the bad file.
• In APT again, Select zotgdmv.exe and Click Kill3
  
• Then immediately delete zotgdmv.exe from your system32 folder.
• Close APT.

Please print out these instructions as the rest of this fix must be done in Safe mode and you won't be able to access the Internet.

Please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:

• Restart your computer
• After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
• Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
• Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Enable show hidden files and folders:

• Click Start.
• Open My Computer.
• Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
• Select the View Tab.
• Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
• Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
• Click Yes to confirm.
• Click OK

Once in Safe mode, please follow these steps:

• Double-click on nailfix.exe.
  Click "Next" in the setup, then make sure "Run Nailfix" is checked and click "Finish".
  Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.
  
  
• Open the folder dsrfix
  • Double click on the dsrfix batch file( the one with the little gear in it )
  • Once dsrfix has completed it will close on its own
• Now open ewido and do a scan of your system.
  • Click on scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
  • You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
  • Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report.
  • Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.
  
  
• Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of these. Then close all other windows--you should only see HijackThis on your Desktop--and click the Fix Checked button.

  IMPORTANT!
  CleanUp deletes EVERYTHING out of your temp/temporary folders, it does not make backups.
  If you have any documents or programs that are saved in any Temporary Folders, please make a backup of these before running CleanUp
  
  Running CleanUp
  • Start CleanUp by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
  • When CleanUp starts go to the Options button (right side of CleanUp screen)
  • Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
  • Now place a checkmark next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
  • Delete Cookies
    This is optional, if you leave the box checked it will remove all of your cookies, at this point removing cookies is a good idea
  • Empty Recycle Bins
  • Delete Prefetch files
  • Cleanup! All Users
• Click OK
• Then click on the CleanUp button. This will take a short while, let it do its thing.
• When asked to reboot system select No
• Close CleanUp

Finally, restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the report log from the Ewido scan by using Add Reply

Your log looks pretty good. Can you manually enable Mcafee? It's not unusual for Mcafee to start up as disabled, especially after an update. As long as you can enable it and it doesn't disable again on it's own I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Things are running much better now.
McAfee is still disabling itself. I click enable and does nothing, I exit the program then restart it from the programs menu, it stays on for a few minutes then disables itself. over and over.

Now that you are clean, please follow these simple steps in order to keep your computer clean and secure:

• Disable and Enable System Restore. - If you are using Windows ME or XP then you should disable and reenable system restore to make sure there are no infected files found in a restore point left over from what we have just cleaned.

• Make your Internet Explorer more secure - This can be done by following these simple instructions:
  • From within Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu and then click on Options.
  • Click once on the Security tab
  • Click once on the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted.
  • Click once on the Custom Level button.
    
    • Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt
    • Change the Download unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable
    • Change the Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable
    • Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
    • Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt
    • Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt
    • When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button.
    • If it prompts you as to whether or not you want to save the settings, press the Yes button.
  • Next press the Apply button and then the OK to exit the Internet Properties page.
• Use an AntiVirus Software - It is very important that your computer has an anti-virus software running on your machine. This alone can save you a lot of trouble with malware in the future.

• Update your AntiVirus Software - It is imperitive that you update your Antivirus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your antivirus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.
  
  
• Use a Firewall - I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer. Without a firewall your computer is succeptible to being hacked and taken over. I am very serious about this and see it happen almost every day with my clients. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly.

• Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.
  
  
• Install Spybot - Search and Destroy - Install and download Spybot - Search and Destroy with its TeaTimer option. This will provide realtime spyware & hijacker protection on your computer alongside your virus protection. You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software.

• Install Ad-Aware - Install and download Ad-Aware. ou should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software in conjunction with Spybot.

• Install SpywareBlaster - SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs.

• Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.

Follow this list and your potential for being infected again will reduce dramatically.
