My audio is fine on my computer. Then I leave it for a few hours. When I return, no sound comes from the computer until I restart Windows. Then the sound is back. Why is the sound going away?

Hi. There are lots of known issues with audio devices in WXP. Simple search of their knowledg base on "sound stops working" http://support.micro...d stops working
gets about 100 hits. Start by identifying your sound card or on board audio (which ever the case may be). If you don't know who the manufacturer and what the model number is, run Belarc Advisor, it will tell you. Search google for it (it is free). Then see if you can find a driver update for it.
