As you ran sfc /scannow and chkdsk /f /r then it isn't XP

Check your Video Adapter, look for new drivers or re-install the ones you have

I looked in device manager under 'VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Controller' and in driver details it has the file usbport.sys.

SP2 update the USB

You can click the + next to universal serial bus controller then right click and delete all of them then reboot and XP will re-install them as it loads

Well I disabled them and I managed to install SP2 and USB2 so hopefully this will be the end of the problems. Thanks for your help!

At least something went right, did you get the firewall, anti virus and anti spyware

You can uninstall the items listed in USB controller then XP will install them again when it loads

Oh, hold up. Another BSOD
I thought it was too good to be true. kmixer.sys
It appears when I start a game. Is it something to do with the audio?

KMixer System Driver
The KMixer system driver (kmixer.sys) is the KS filter that does the following:

Mixing of multiple PCM audio streams
High-quality format conversion
Mixing and sample-rate conversion (See KMixer Driver Sample Rate Conversion and Mixing.)
Bit-depth conversion
Speaker configuration and channel mapping
In addition to simple 8- and 16-bit, mono and stereo data formats, the KMixer driver supports:

PCM and IEEE floating-point data
Bit depths greater than 16 bits, and multichannel formats with more than two channels
HRTF (head-related transfer function) 3D processing

Update the drivers for audio and video

Everest Home will tell you what they are

http://www.lavalys.c...p?pid=1&lang=en

Install it, click + next to computer then summary, check what it has for display / video adapter and multimedia / audio adapter
