You did it your a geek now.
sorry we got a bit out of sink my eldest started to down load songs
and speed on internet went down
I should have got the answer earlier sorry about the time it took
But some times I take the long and carefull route

Ok- pulling the disc out of the drive while it was reading caused the problem
as for the games did they delete them of just take them out of the accessories? have you looked in the recycle bin? you can restore from there

they're not in the recycle bin, so I'm really not sure

now she typed in exit in the dos mode, it went to the win 98 screen, went black, then went to win 98 screen again, loaded for a few minutes and then popped up normal

she restarted again and it went back to dos, she types in exit and then it does work again,

it looks like everytime you restart it takes you to dos, then you exit dos and then it will be normal

the only thing checked in the general tab is normal start up, we restart the computer and it goes back to the original ms dos screen with the c:\windows>

it says to type exit to return to windows, we did that and now it's back at windows

should we try another restart?
