You've definitely picked up some nasties the last couple of days. Why did you uninstall AVG?

I would strongly advise removing Norton because the errors you were receiving previously were caused from Norton files missing so the anti-virus application is not functioning properly. Either reinstall Norton, or remove it and install AVG again.

I will look over your log and be back as soon as possible :tazz:

I didn't uninstall AVG? I tried to uninstall Norton Antivirus because My D: drive does not work (I have a cd rom, but there is no D: drive only a A: and C: on my computer and it does not run CD's?? :tazz: ), so I have not been able to install anything from a disk. Therefore, I installed AVG, but never uninstalled it. I will install it again. THank you so much for helping me. I am so lost with the computer stuff. Norton Antivirus is not showing up on my desktop, nor in my add remove programs, it has not shown up there for a while?
THANKS
I am reinstalling AVG

First, we need to remove the Peper trojan.
  • Download uninst.exe from HERE
  • Double-click uninst.exe to run it.
  • Let it terminate (it'll just blink briefly on your screen and won't appeared to have done much--this is normal)
We will also get rid of Norton manually.

Make sure you are disconnected from the Internet and that all programs and windows are closed. Run HiJackThis. Place a check next to the following items, if found, and click FIX CHECKED:

a-squared Free is a trojan removal tool. To be able to use it, you must set up a free a-squared Account, to get access to the update server.
Please setup an a-squared account at the following link:
http://www.emsisoft....oftware/account

Then download a-squared free from this link:

http://www.emsisoft....ftware/download

Install it and update it.

Then boot your computer to Safe Mode.

Once in safe mode fire up a-squared and let it run. Do not fix anything yet lets just see what it finds. When it is done scanning click the save log as html button.

Reboot to normal windows and upload that html file with your next post. I will go through and analyze the log to tell you if any of the files should not be removed.

Go ahead and run asquared and fix the items it found.

Let's try updating your video card driver first, if it doesn't work then we'll reinstall the driver.

Right-click My Computer and go to properties. Click Device Manager
Scroll down the list and find your video card. Right-click on it and go to properties, click the "Driver" tab and go to "Update Driver". Choose "Automatic search for a better driver" and click next. Let it search. Please let me know if it says you have the best driver.

Hi,
I am still running the scanner to delete those files, but it does say that I am using the best driver when I try to update it.
Thanks!

We'll need to replace your video card driver, then :)

The site where I need you to download it from is under maintenance at the moment, so I will post instructions for that tomorrow. :tazz:

Will you post a new HiJackThis log for me, please.

Please go here:
http://support.packa...platform_7521NL
Click sis6307309xv413012015.exe and download it to your desktop. Do NOT install it yet!

Next, right-click My Computer and go to properties. Click Device Manager
Scroll down the list and look for Display Adapters click the plus next to it. Your video card is the SiS 630/730 under Display Adapters (NOT SiS 900 - that has to do with your Internet!). Right-click on your video card and go to remove. Follow the prompts on the screen. The computer must be rebooted after removing it.

Once the system has rebooted, double-click sis6307309xv413012015.exe to install the driver. Follow the instructions on the screen.

After it's installed we need to make sure it's the most up to date driver for your system:

Right-click My Computer and go to properties. Click Device Manager
Scroll down the list and find your video card (SiS 630/730). Right-click on it and go to properties, click the "Driver" tab and go to "Update Driver". Choose "Automatic search for a better driver" and click next. Let it search. Please let me know if it says you have the best driver.

Then reboot your computer and let me know if you're still having problems.
