My Windows ME wont do anything... HELP!

Ok wana be you got me a step further thank you but i am confused on wether this after i type in the command is say

Usage: SCANREG [/<option>]

<option>
? :Display usage
Backup :Backup registr ....
Restore : Choose a back up the restore
Fix : Repiar the Registry
Comment="<comment>"
:Adds the specified comment to the CAB file while backing up.

At the C: prompt, type windows\command\scandisk and press Enter.

no i did this earlier today it may have then and i also did the surface scan that took a while

Surface scan does take a while, huh? My ME machine locked up again...that's why I only use it for this kind of thing. Stand by while I get it moving again....sorry... :tazz:

Hello mikekaz123...sorry that took so long...

At the C prompt type: windows\command\scanreg /fix (Note the space after scanreg and the forward / before fix) Let me know how it goes.

it siad windows sucessfully fixed your registry

Then it brought me to black screen with only

C:\> on it

Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart.........
