Im using Windows 2000, and i cannot access the sound properties through the taskbar, i went to control panel and i cant select any options, the property controls are disabled..

suggestions?

Welcome to G2G. When did this start to occur? Did you delete any specific file/program before this happened?

nothing specific, we moved house and then the computer was just disconnected and all and then reconnected, thats about all we did, then we tried to open a sound file from the net and then the sound was not working.

Go to the Device Manager and check if your speakers are installed correctly. Also update the sound drivers from the manufacturers website.
