MY ACER LAPTOP WHICH WAS RUNNING ON BATTERY WENT INTO HIBERNATION AND FAILED TO RESTART. ONCE BOOT ON PASSWORD SCREEN CAME KEYBOARD REFUSED TO ACCEPT ANY COMMAND. CONTACTED ACER THEY ASKED ME TO SHORT THE BIOS BATTERY AND CLEAN THE MEMORY OF BOOT PASSWORD. DID THAT COMPUTER BOOTED BUT FAILED TO LOAD WINDOWS ON A BLACK SCREEN THE MESSAGE COMES OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND. MY CRUCIAL DATA IS THERE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON RECOVERY? TRIED RUNNING XP CD TO REPAIR PARTITIONS BUT DID NOT SUCEED.

ACER SAID connect the hard disk as an external device using an external hard disk casing (USB interface) and access the files stored on the hard disk. If you are using Windows XP (most probably that is the OS) you need to take the ownership by connecting the hard disk to XP OS loaded machine.

If the partitions are not available there is a possibility that the data will also be not available. Anyways try connecting the hard disk as external hard disk. If you happen to see the data copy your data, recover the system using the recovery CD.
