I rebotted again and still no "hpqtra08.exe is not responing" message.

I attached a couple of pictures of what I'm seeing with the Fax deal. In the Windows task manager image name MSIEXEC.EXE user name Jeffrey dissapears when it hit cancel on the Fax install. There is also an image name MSIEXEC.EXE user name SYSTEM that remains. I've never seen these before.

Do you have any printing jobs?

No, I double clicked each for the printers and nothings in que. I also double clicked on the Fax. The Fax Console opens and appears to be working although I don't know how to run it. There doesn't seem to be any open jobs here either.

I had the same exact problem yesterday when I was on a service call. It was an HP computer and I did regseeker (cleaner) on it. Then the fax thing came up. I didn't have the time to go thru the registry and see which one it was deleting that was causing this, so I just installed the backups and it went away.
On regseeker it self, there is a button on there that says backups, if you double click on it, it will ask you if u want to restore backups, just say yes and reboot after that.
