Hi Geeks To Go -

My computer has been infected by 2 virusses - trojan.desktophijack. I purchased Norton Anti-Virus in an attmpt to fix my computer, but without success.

I followed your instructions & suggestions to downloaded "clean-up" - I was prompted to insert a disk with Windows XP on it - I don't have such a disk seeing that my computer came out with Windows XP when I bought it. Now, I not only have the virusses but also scrambled toolbars etc... Just a blank white box at the end at the bottom of my screen...

I also tried to downlaod Ad-Aware as suggested - I received the following message: Application failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect.

As you may have figured I don't know anything about computers and I desperately need your help.

Many thanks

Daniel

We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool, Hijack This. Follow the instructions in step five of this guide, and reply here with your log.

Most of what Hijack This lists lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.
