I have a windows xp computer that had its hard drive replaced, so I had to try setting up the wireless connection on this computer(The wireless network is encrypted). After every few minuites the connection is dropped. I have tried the following:
1)disabling firewalls
2)unplugging the router
3)restarting the computer
4)changing the routers wireless channel
I just can not figure out why the connection keeps dropping. does anybody have any clue as to why this keeps happening to me?

Thank You for posting the answer

Windows XP Firewall blocks incoming data only

Most third party firewalls block incoming and outgoing data

You can choose a firewall here

http://www.filehippo...ware/firewalls/

You would need to turn the XP Firewall off after installing one of these

Zone Alarm is a popular choice
