windows xp system, what happened?

Hey all, We'll ive had viruses before really bad , but got my computer rebooted so it was like new, free of viruses and it felt good. And its been about 6 months since then, and everything has been fine, except today I was just browsing online, and Something made my CP log me off and shut down windows automatically, Then I Started my computer back up, and after it did, it automatically shut down my computer again. Then I disconnected my internet for a while, and then started my computer back up and everything is working fine, but what the [bleep] was this? and am i at risk? plse help, txs. oh and btw i run ad-aware like 10 times a day, but do i need more then this?
