I am unable to access the Internet; the web browser is performing very slow and eventually displays a message that the web page can not be displayed. I've attemped to resolve this problem using all of the recommended tools without any luck. Fortunately, I discovered that disabling and re-enabling the network interface allowed me to successfully use TFTP to transfer all of the recommended programs to the infected system. It seems like the system works temporarily when the network interface is disabled and re-enabled. I honestly thought that the recommended WinSockFix program was going solve my issue; unfortunately it did not. I noticed that there were two network interfaces listed on my system upon initially discovering that I was unable to access internet. My 3Com interface, one called 1394 connection, and a bridge connection. I removed the bridge connection and noticed that my Linksys home router was able to provide the 3Com interface with an IP address via DHCP; but access to the Internet via the browser was still troublesome. I use a browser called Secure IE; but I also tried using regular IE without success.
