I have it running to where I think it's running smoothly... But I think that the built in XP firewall is preventing me from reciving some incoming e-mails.

I have cable modem, but I still use AOL as my mail cilent.

Any suggestions?

The XP firewall is not sophisticated enough to selectively filter email. You should use a third party firewall/AV protection, too. Dumping AOL is a good start to faster performance. What are your hardware specs?

That's good to hear. I got rid of AOL itsself, but I still use it as a mail client.

I have no idea what my hardware specs are. I bought this computer from my neighbor and he did a lot of work to it both before and after I bought it.

Everything is running cmoothly now.

Do you have any suggestions when it comes to free firewalls? I was suggested ZoneAlarm by someone...
