Hello all!

First of all I must thank everyone who responds to our cries for help! I find this site invaluable, and thank you all again! <_<

Now, on my brand new Dell PC, I want to be sure I have everything I ordered. I tried to load Microsoft Works Suite 2002 from DVD. I put it into the top disk drive (D), which I presumed wa CD Rom, and DVD Rom, but it wouldnt read it.

However it reads no problem in Drive E, so I checked the Drives in explorer, and under properties, and this is what I got:

CD Drive (D:)
DVD/CD-RW Drive (E:)

And under properties for each one:

Samsung CD-ROM SC-148A
Teac DVD+RW DV-W58E

My reading of this is that Drive D is CD only (Samsung) and Drive E is the Teac DVD Rewriteable and CD Rewriteable. But I'm not absolutely sure about it being DVD rewriteable (I obviously havent used it yet).

I thought the CD ROM drive was also the DVD Rom (read)?, and that the 2 re-writeables were combined together? It doesnt really matter, of course, as long as I DO have a DVD re-writeable! Forgive my ignorance. :D

Thanks
KC
