This has frustrated me to living end. I have run all known tests to man....lol....and now I'm here with my HiJack This Log File in hopes that someone can help me with my settings.
For some unknown reason, my animations, my .gifs, etc are showing up unanimated and as a .bmp. Even if someone has mailed me an image that is animated, I lose the animation in the download as the only two options I have when I have the save file as box up is all files, or ART file, or .bmp. Regardless if it is a .gif in the email as an attachement or embedded image. Can someone help me fix this issue? I play alot in Paint Shop Pro and and a member of many, many wonderful groups, but am finding that I am losing the talented work of others to this problem. Please help me restore my settings. Thanks!
Silver

P.S. Whomever made me the new avie and changed it for me, thank you! I love it!!! I'm so trying to get into learing to make avies!!!! Thanks so much!

This is a common problem in Internet Explorer....it's not spyware or virus related.

CleanUp! deletes EVERYTHING out of your temp/temporary folders, it does not make backups. If you have any documents or programs that are saved in any Temporary Folders, please make a backup of these before running CleanUp!. Download CleanUp! http://cleanup.stevengould.org/ (Alternate Link if main link don't work - http://www.greyknigh...spy/CleanUp.exe ) and install it. Run CleanUp! and click on the Options button. Uncheck 'Scan local drives for temporary files'. Also uncheck those two Newsgroup entries if you don't want to delete them. Click OK and then click on the CleanUp! button. Let it run. After it's done, choose Yes to logoff.

Does that fix up the problem?

Well, I already have that installed on my system and run it daily several times a day. And it doesn't help, even after I did as you suggested. Any other ideas? Please let me know, I missing out on some very beautiful .gifs because of this! If you only knew my addiction to PaintShop Pro 9! LoL! I'm a glutton for it! LoL! Thanks for helping me.

LOL. No problem Markie. I'll try to help you asap on this one.

Delete any Unknown or Damaged objects in Internet Explorer by clicking Tools and Internet Options. Within the General tab of Internet Options click the Settings button. Click the "View Objects" button. Delete any objects that have a status of "Unknown" or "Damaged".

Here is a Microsoft Article on this problem.

Sure. A few more tricks, but no more after that :tazz: Try this Microsoft Article. If that still doesn't work, then see below.

OK, this is getting to be non-related a little, but try these two sites also:

And again.......NEXT! That didn't help either. I still have download issues. I receive something that is a .gif and when I go to download it, my computer doesn't want to save it as a .gif but as a .bmp. That sucks! LoL! Help!

Run CleanUp program in Safe Mode. Go into Internet Explorer->Tools->Internet Options and click on Delete Files button. Make sure the checkbox is checked and hit OK.

Restart your computer and see if it still does the same thing. If so, let's try using the old sfc method :tazz:

Go to Start->Run and type in sfc /scannow and hit OK. Let it scan. If it finds any files missing/corrupted, it may ask for the Windows CD.

Ok, will do and will let you know how it goes. Is this also going to take care of webpages that don't show up animated when they should? Just curious, as this is also part of my problem.

By the way, thanks so much for helping me.
God bless!

I'm not sure if they are related, but if the animated images still won't work properly after doing the steps I mentioned, then take a look at this site.

Hi Markie, sorry I couldn't help you out more in this case.

If you want, I recommend posting in the Windows Forum. We have experts there who deal more with Windows and they may be able to help solve both of these problems.
