If someone has a Gigabyte motherboard with a game port connector cable (I have a K8NS Pro) could they please post the pinout translation.

By that I mean which pin on the motherboard connector goes to what pin on the D15 socket. It doesn't seem to follow any pattern and I'm not really inclined to try all 1,307,674,368,000 possible combinations.

Thanks in advance,
Kurt

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go. You should be able to find that in your Gigabyte motherboard manual. If you don't have the manual, you can get it at Gigabyte's web page.

I've got the manual but it's not much help. All that can be determined from it is that it's not a direct translation ( 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, etc) or interleaved (1-1, 2-9, 3-2, 4-10, 5-3, etc).

And the answer is:

Mother D15
Board Game
1 1
2 3
3 5
4 7
5 9
6 11
7 13
8 15
9 2
10 4
11 6
12 8
13 10
14 12
15 14

Oh what a tangled web we weave, when we first we practise to solder that [bleep]!
