Hello and welcome to Geeks to Go! :tazz: I'm kool808 and I will be helping you today.

Please RIGHT-CLICK HERE to download Silent Runner's.
  • Save it to the desktop.
  • Run Silent Runner's by doubleclicking the "Silent Runners" icon on your desktop.
  • You will see a text file appear on the desktop - it's not done, let it run (it won't appear to be doing anything!)
  • Once you receive the prompt All Done!, open the text file on the desktop, copy that entire log, and paste it here.

*NOTE* If you receive any warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run.

Please disable your Trojan Hunter Guard and Win Patrol, this will hinder our fix procedures. We will re-enable it later when your system is clean.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Please download ewido security suite it is a free version of the program.
  • Install ewido security suite
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..
    • Install background guard
    • Install scan via context menu
  • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
  • The program will now open to the main screen.
  • When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  • You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
    • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
    • Then click on Start Update.
  • The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
    (the status bar at the bottom will display ("Update successful")
  • Exit ewido. DO NOT scan yet.
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.
ewido manual updates

Download CleanUp
Install the program, dont run it yet, we will later.

Please download this file: Nailfix Utility
Save it to your desktop.
DO NOT run it yet.

Download dsrfix.zip
Save it to your desktop.
  • Unzip dsrfix.zip and extract it to your desktop.
  • This will create a new folder on your desktop named dsrfix.
  • Do Not open that folder yet.
To reboot into SafeMode with Windows XP, you can follow these steps from Microsoft:

Next, please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, start tapping press F8 key.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on nailfix.exe.
Click "Next" in the setup, then make sure "Run Nailfix" is checked and click "Finish".
Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Now open ewido and do a scan of your system.
  • Click on scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
  • You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
  • Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report.
  • Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.
Now open the folder dsrfix on your desktop.
  • Double-Click on dsrfix.bat
  • A window will pop up briefly then close, this is normal.
Enable show hidden files and folders:

* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK

Be sure to View Hidden and System Files.

Through Windows Explorer, delete the following folder(s) or files(s) if they exist (in bold):
  • C:\WINNT\system32\certcclie.exe
  • C:\WINNT\system32\openconf.exe.tcf
  • C:\WINNT\system32\95hbfzdhf4.dll
  • C:\WINNT\system32\ddcmxo1mzg.dll
Finally, Empty Recycle Bin

Now run the CleanUp program:

*IMPORTANT NOTE*
CleanUp deletes EVERYTHING out of your temp/temporary folders, it does not make backups.
If you have any documents or programs that are saved in any Temporary Folders, please make a backup of these before running CleanUp

Running CleanUp
  • Start CleanUp by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
  • When CleanUp starts go to the Options button (right side of CleanUp screen)
  • Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
  • Now place a checkmark next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
    • Delete Cookies
      This is optional, if you leave the box checked it will remove all of your cookies, at this point removing cookies is a good idea
    • Empty Recycle Bins
    • Delete Prefetch files
    • Cleanup! All Users
  • Click OK
  • Then click on the CleanUp button. This will take a short while, let it do its thing.
  • When asked to reboot system select No
  • Close CleanUp
Finally, restart your computer back into Normal Mode

Run the rkfiles again to verify the fix and please post a new HJT log, as well as the ewido report log from the Ewido scan and rkfiles results by using Add Reply

Make sure you are disconnected from the Internet and that all programs and windows are closed. Run HiJackThis. Place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: Domain = age.net
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{2F929AD9-D2D7-4EE7-BB60-D7DE5E2312B4}: NameServer = 69.50.176.198,85.255.112.12
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{4C6D5C67-E4CD-481C-B320-0035B59D605E}: NameServer = 69.50.176.198,85.255.112.12
O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: Domain = age.net
O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\VxD\MSTCP: NameServer = 69.50.166.94,69.31.80.244
O17 - HKLM\System\CS2\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: Domain = age.net
O17 - HKLM\System\CS2\Services\VxD\MSTCP: NameServer = 69.50.166.94,69.31.80.244
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\VxD\MSTCP: NameServer = 69.50.166.94,69.31.80.244

Close HiJackThis.

I am not very familiar with Windows 2000 so some of this instruction will not be the same:

Now lets check some settings on your system.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel and double-click on Network Connections
  • Then right click on your Default Connection
    • Usually Local Area Connection for Cable and DSL
  • Left click on Properties.
  • Click the Networking tab.
  • Double-Click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item.
  • Select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS Servers Automatically.
  • Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks.
Make sure to reboot and post back a new HiJackThis log into this topic.

Be sure to View Hidden and System Files.

Through Windows Explorer, delete the following folder(s) or files(s) if they exist (in bold):
  • C:\WINNT\system32\myin.hta
Finally, Empty Recycle Bin

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Download the Hoster http://www.funkytoad.com/download/hoster.zip
DO NOT run the program yet.

Unzip Host to your desktop

Open up the Host program folder then double-clicking Hoster.exe.
  • Make sure that the instruction found on the upper-right corner is labeled as the one shown below. Otherwise, if the label is RED click the button just right beside it to change the label and color back.

    "Your Host file is editable. Click button to right to make your Hosts file Read-only"

  • Click back-up Host files
  • then click Restore orginal host files
  • close the program.
ALTERNATIVE:
To edit the Hosts file:
This file may not exist on all systems.

1. Using Windows Explorer, browse to the Windows or Winnt folder.
2. Locate the Hosts file (if it exists).

NOTE: On some NT-based systems, this file may be in the \I386 folder.
3. Right-click the Hosts file and then click Open With.
4. Choose Notepad and then click OK.
5. look for a line that refers to:

auto.search.msn.com

If you find it delete it.
6. Close Notepad and save your changes when prompted.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Have an On-line scan at this sites:Panda Scan , save the results then post it back.

How is everything running, are you still being redirected?

When you ran the Hoster tool, what did you notice. Did you encounter any problems performing the procedure? When you edited the Host file did you find any auto.search.msn.com? Let us do some diagnostics. :tazz:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Let us first reset your Internet Web Settings:
1. Open IE
2. Tools > Reset Web Settings
3. put a check on also reset my home page
4. click YES
5. close IE, then re-open to take effect.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Please Download the stand-alone version of [ CoolWebShredder ]

Update CWShredder
  • Open CWShredder and click I AGREE
  • Click Check For Update
  • Now run CWShredder. Click I Agree, then Fix and then Next, let it fix everything it asks about.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

Location 1: HERE
Location 2: HERE

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

[EDITED] * Revised the fix, made some major changes!
