I used adaware to scan my computer and found WIN32.P2P-WORM.ALCAN.A. I followed your instructions here and i scanned again with adaware to check if i still had it. I just want to make sure that this virus is gone because when i used CleanUp!, a lot of files couldn't be deleted because it said they were still in use. It told me to log off and back in again and i did so, but i used CleanUp! again and they still werent deleted.

Please help me see if i still have this virus on my computer.

Thanks in advance.

P.S.---> Here is my log:

Welcome to GTG.

Well, if you have P2P Worm Alcan, it's gone now. But to make sure:

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Download KillBox http://www.greyknigh...spy/KillBox.exe. Run KillBox and check the box that says 'End Explorer Shell While Killing File'. Next click on 'Delete on Reboot'. Copy the below files and go back to KillBox. Go to File->Paste from Clipboard and then hit the button with a red circle and white X. Confirm to delete and when asked if you want to reboot, say no:

C:\Program Files\MsConfigs\MsConfigs.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\p2pnetwork.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\CMD.COM
C:\WINDOWS\system32\netstat.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ping.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\regedit.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tasklist.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskkill.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskmgr.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tracert.com

Restart. Make sure to close all open windows. Check and fix the following in HijackThis:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {549B5CA7-4A86-11D7-A4DF-000874180BB3} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {E0E899AB-F487-11D5-8D29-0050BA6940E3} - (no file)

Restart and post a new HijackThis log.

First of all thank you for replying to my problem. I did not expect an answer so fast. Secondly, this is probably a dumb question, but when i click file>paste to clipboard, theres nothing in the drag down box. When i copy and paste into the box, only one appears. Does this mean i should delete them one by one?

What happens if you hit the circled X button? Does it prompt you for each file to delete? It should delete in groups. If not or it's still giving you problems, then yes, do it one by one.

Thank you for your help. I have tried to delete the files through killbox and it says they do not exist. I then went into hijackthis and fixed those 3 things you told me to. Here is the Hijackthis! log:

Those are ok. They will return each time you go online. Just restart and it should clear it and create a new file for those index.dat files.

Your log is clean.

To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the Anti-Spyware Tutorial and use the tools provided.

Are there any problems now? If not, you should be set to go.
