HELP!!!

OK started with UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME error.
Booted using 6 WINXP PRO boot files
Got to the Recovery Console.
did chkdsk /r and got error at 33% "The volume appears to contain one or more unrecoverable problems"
did chkdsk /p same error
did fixboot c:
got: "The new bootsector was successfully written"
did a chkdsk /p again and got the orginal error.

I'm not sure where to go from here. I need to get files off the computer tried the cd function and got nowhere.

Computer Specs:
Laptop: Dell Inspiron 2650
Operating: WIN XP Pro

Sound like your hard drive has developed a serious fault. You may be able to recover some of your files by fitting it as a slave drive, either on another system or in your system after fitting a new 'C' drive and installing Windows afresh. Some information on fitting a new drive, formatting it and installing Windows can be found Here
