Please help,

I have unwanted favorites in my folder, pop ups all the time, adault friend finder etc; unwanted toolbars and lop.com.

I have run ad-aware, spyware, antivirus, but they are still there.

Is this a multi-boot system

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Please download and install AD-Aware se.
Click Here on how setup and use it - please make sure you update it first. Don't run yet.

Download Pocket Killbox and unzip it; save it to your Desktop. We may need it later.

Download Ewido Trojan’s and malware remover http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
This setup contains the free as well as the plus-version of the ewido security suite. After the installation, a free 14-day test version containing all the extensions of the plus-version will be activated. At the end of the test phase, the extensions of the plus version are deactivated and the freeware version can be used unlimited times. The purchased license code of the plus version can be entered at any time.
Ewido will auto-udate. Don't run yet

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Run Ewido full scan. Save the scan.log and post the log.

Clear out the files in the Prefetch folder. Go to start> run> type into the box Prefetch and delete all the files in that folder.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an check in the boxes, only next to these following items:

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Run Ad-aware se let it remove all it finds

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:
windll32.exe<--Delete this file
G:\other stuf\_submited.pif<--Delete this file
C:\DOCUME~1\renee\APPLIC~1\PROXYA~1\Body Inside.exe<--Delete this file
C:\PROGRA~1\BT2Net\BT2PLU~1.DLL<--Delete this file
Exit Explorer.

Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure all are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Let the system reboot as normal.

Please download, install and run this disk cleanup utility called Cleanup version 4.0!: http://downloads.ste...p/CleanUp40.exe
It will get rid of any malware which may be hiding in your temp folders ( a common hiding place). You will also regain a massive amount of disk space. Here is a tutorial which describes its usage: http://www.bleepingc...tutorial93.html
Check the custom settings to your liking under options, but be sure to delete temporary files and temporary internet files for all user profiles. Also, cleanout the prefetch folder and the recycle bin.When the scan has finnished click the close button
When prompted the system will log off to let it clean out the remaining files. when the log screen shows log back on and continue the fix.

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Control panel-->Add remove programs uninstall the following:
MessengerPlus - third party MSN Messenger extension that adds a number of useful features. Bundles the hard to remove C2Media LOP adware; the software does offer you a choice during setup: make sure to install MessengerPlus WITHOUT that "sponsor program"!

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Press Control-Alt-Del to enter the Task Manager.
Click on the Processes tab and end the following processes:
C:\Program Files\MessengerPlus! 3\MsgPlus.exeExit the Task Manager when finished.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MessengerPlus3] "C:\Program Files\MessengerPlus! 3\MsgPlus.exe"
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Add animation to IncrediMail Style Box - D:\PROGRA~1\INCRED~2\bin\resources\WebMenuImg.htm
Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:
C:\Program Files\MessengerPlus! 3\MsgPlus.exe
D:\PROGRA~1\INCRED~2\bin\resources\WebMenuImg.htm
Exit Explorer.Reboot as normal.

Please run the following free, online virus scans.

Disable Spybot Tutorial

Unzip SpyBot V1.4 then run the program update the program then run it.
It will remove the lop infection

Post a new Hijackthis.log

Hi Thatman,

I downloaded Spybot, went to the Advanced section, but there was no Teatimer in the Startup section to disable. Ran Spybot but it did not remove "Lop".

Open notepad and copy and paste next bold in it:

notepad.exe c:\findlop.txt

Save this as findlop.bat
Choose to save as all files and place it on your desktop.
Now doubleclick on findlop.bat and it will scan.
Notepad will open afterwards with some txt in it, so copy and paste this in your next reply

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Long Test Style Mail] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\mp3 download long test\poptray.exe
Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:
A7B58301918600F5.job<--Delete this file
AAC26E2D91961EFD.job<--Delete this file
AC3943D4918AFC98.job<--Delete this file
Exit Explorer.Reboot as normal.

If you were unable to find any of the files then please follow these additional instructions:
Download Pocket Killbox and unzip it; save it to your Desktop.
Run killbox and click the radio button that says Delete a file on reboot. For each of the files you could not delete, paste them one at a time into the full path of file to delete box and click the red circle with a white cross in it.
The program will ask you if you want to reboot; say No each time until the last one has been pasted in whereupon you should answer Yes.

Hi Thatman,

Things are starting to look better.

I could not delete C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\mp3 download long test\poptray.exe. A box appeared saying that cannot delete file because it is being used by another program.

Your HJT.log is clean

Boot into safemade

Use windows explorer delete the following file's/folder's
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\mp3 download long test<--Delete the whole folder

Reboot as normal

Run the panda scan again and post a new HJT.log
