Windows will not shut down

After using the computer for some time, it starts to get slower and then slower and eventually i decide to shut it down, it does not :tazz: . As a usual windows xp computer it shuts down on the blue screen whilst saving your settings, my computer freezes/ doesn't shut down. please help me to shut down my computer I have tried everything including a system restore.

You might have viruses/spyware. Go to the malware section in the forum for help.

I have done several virus checks using ewido, norton and mcafee but they find nothing. I don't have anything to stop spyware any reccomendations?

Have you used Ad-aware SE to get rid of adware ?

Thanks the website helped out really well. I am still not sure that the computer is working to its optimum performance as it is still quite slow any reccomendations to speed it up? :tazz:

Please go to the malware forum in my signature and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
