Invalid proxy means you are either not set-up correctly to use a proxy server, or you don't have your settings correct if you don't use a proxy server.

What application is giving you this error? That would be helpful.

it is an audio streaming program (imesh) it started out when i downloaded warez (another program) when i downloaded the update it started not working. so i switched programs to imesh and now it doesn't work on that either. the home page says "Action Cancelled" like it can not connect to the internet

Well done chap, after getting your last infection cleared up, you have managed to reinfect yourself by doing this.
