I'm at my wits end, please help!
I can't seem to get rid of command.exe, and I'm on aol and get internet explorer pop-ups like crazy, don't even have to be signed on. I know command.exe is somehow related to a virus, but have no idea if that is what's causing my pop-ups. I run McAffe and it seems to find the same things over and over and although I delete them they keep coming back. Same thing with Ewido, keeps detecting and deleting the same things. Ad-aware finds over 50 (many times even over 100) critical things which I keep deleting over and over as well. I did an online scan and half the things it found I was no able to delete, kept saying access denied.
Any help is highly appreciated! I've tried getting rid of command.exe through HJT and it is back everytime I restart my computer.
Here is my HJT log:

Hi pgb and welcome to the Geeks to Go Forums.

My name is Trevuren and I will be helping you with your log.

1. Go to Geeks to Go
. Click on My Controls at the top right hand corner of the window. (make sure you have signed in first)
. In the left hand column, click "View Topics"
. If you click on the title of your post, you will be taken there

2. Also, while at the My Controls page, check the box to the right of your post and then scroll down.
.Where it says "unsubscribe" click the pull-down menu and select "immediate email notification"

3. Your system has numerous different infections. We are looking at a multi-post process.

4. A. Download this tool: LQfix.zip
Unzip it to your Desktop.
Don't use it yet!

IMPORTANT! Reboot the computer into Safe Mode (tap F8 during bootup, use arrow keys to select Safe Mode, then hit 'enter').

B. Doubleclick LQfix.bat that you saved on your desktop before.
A doswindow will open and close again, that is normal.

C. Reboot into normal mode and scan with HijackThis. Post the new log as a reply to this thread.

Regards,

Trevuren

You have the latest version of VX2.
  • Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

    http://www.atribune....oads/l2mfix.exe
    http://www.downloads....org/l2mfix.exe

  • Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe.
  • Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then OPEN the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop.
  • Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #"1" for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing Enter.
  • This will scan your computer and it may appear as if nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, Notepad will open with a log.
  • Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.
IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Regards,

Trevuren

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.
  • From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing "2" and then pressing ENTER.
  • Then press any key to reboot your computer.
  • After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer.
  • When it's finished, Notepad will open with a log.
  • Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.
IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

Regards,

Trevuren

Ok, I did everything you said. After the reboot, my McAfee automatically updated itself and said the following four files were infected with the VeryLince trojan and (supposedly) cleaned.
C:\windows\system32\azferror.dll
\idsmsnap.dll
\mhcsubs.dll
\oqbccp32.dll
wasn't sure if that was important, so thought I'd share it.

Here are both new logs:
l2mfix (am I correct in assuming l2m is look2me? Ewido found about a half dozen of those files each time I scanned with it, and they kept coming back) log:

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.
  • First we need to make all files and folders VISIBLE:
    • Go to start>control panel>folder options>view (tab)
    • Choose to "show hidden files and folders,"
    • Uncheck the "hide protected operating system files" and the "hide extensions for know file types" boxes.
    • Close the window with ok
  • Please RUN HijackThis.
. Click the SCAN button to produce a log.

  • Place a check mark beside each one of the following items:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ComcastSUPPORT] C:\Program Files\Support.com\bin\tgkill.exe /cleaneahtioga /start
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [A70F6A1D-0195-42a2-934C-D8AC0F7C08EB] rundll32.exe E6F1873B.DLL,D9EBC318C
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ttupt] C:\WINDOWS\ttupt.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Sysnet] C:\DOCUME~1\MYVPR~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\sysnet.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ixdqwcu] C:\WINDOWS\ixdqwcu.EXE
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dnam] C:\WINDOWS\system32\d140113.a.Stub.EXE
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ddghenc] C:\WINDOWS\ddghenc.EXE
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Kgdertxd] C:\WINDOWS\system32\??mbols\cmd.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [CMAPP] "C:\Program Files\CMAPP\Client\cmappclient.exe"
    O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler.exe
    O16 - DPF: {4208FB4D-4E53-4F5A-BF7A-3E047DDB5281} (ActiveX Control) - http://www.icannnews.../ST/ActiveX.ocx

  • Now with all the items selected, and all windows closed except for HJT, delete them by clicking the FIX checked button. Close the HijackThis window.

  • Reboot Your System in Safe Mode

How to use the F8 method to Start Your Computer in Safe Mode

    • Restart the computer.
    • As soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
    • Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode menu item
    • Press Enter.
  • Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and DELETE them (if they are present):

    C:\WINDOWS\ixdqwcu.EXE
    C:\WINDOWS\ddghenc.EXE
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\??mbols\cmd.exe
    C:\Program Files\acai<===Folder
    C:\Program Files\Support.com<===Folder
E6F1873B.DLL<===You will have to Search for this one
    C:\WINDOWS\ttupt.exe
    C:\DOCUME~1\MYVPR~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\sysnet.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\d140113.a.Stub.EXE
    C:\Program Files\CMAPP<===Folder
    PowerReg Scheduler.exe<===Search for this one

  • Exit Explorer, and REBOOT BACK INTO NORMAL MODE

  • Finally, RUN Hijackthis again and produce a new HJT log. Post it in the forum so we can check how everything looks now.
Regards,

Trevuren
