Hello again Samm, just wanted to give you an update.

All the bios were set appropriately, but I did do something interesting.

I reconfigured the boot sequence to boot from the cd rom, and disabled the boot from c and floppy drives, and it worked just fine. I'm not sure what this means (since my problems were when I was hitting the F8 or F12 keys, instead of using a command like "msconfig" or setting the system to boot form the cd.) But i was able to run the repair install, and am unsure of yet how successful it was, but just wanted to give you an update.
