First i had a problem with spyware and adware, but then i got spysweeper and that works fine. Now i have a problem with 404ads. I try to log into my hotmail accounts or my college regisration page but I get a 404ads. I tried to remove it but i still have the problem and but it dosen't say 404ads.net

should I get rid of viewpoint media palyer, emusic, and espnmotion from my add and remove program page.

I would remove viewpoint media player, emusic and as for the espnmotion, this program does communicate with espn site, but supposedly only to update itself. I'm wondering if you can set it to manual update. There's some who say remove it and some who say don't. If it was me I would remove it or try to diable it from always connecting to the internet unless I ask it to, only because if anything it is taking up unnecessary bandwidth. If you have a firewall then set it to ask you when you want it to connect if you really want this program. This is up to you.

Hang in there, it looks like you have caught something else in during this process and some of the entries I had you remove did not leave. I will have further instructions in a short bit.

Lets try this. Download the 30 day free trial of "The Cleaner" from here:

http://www.moosoft.com

Start the program and download any updates. Go to options and set it to delete anything it finds. Do not scan yet.

Next:
Reboot into "Safe Mode" and open "The Cleaner" and scan with it. This may take a little while so be patient. When it is done reboot back into "Safe Mode" and scan with hijack this and remove the following entries if they are all still here.

Well the problem with the highlighted words is gone but the original problem is still there. Maybe I didn't say it clearly enough earlier, so let me give you the details of what happened again.

Over a week ago I realized that I couldn't log onto myhotmail account, then when tring to register for classes for my next semester I couldn't log in. It said 404ads.net/ (and some more stuff can't remember it.) in the address bar. I went to 404ads.net and a page came up that said I could uninstall it from my computer so I clicked on the button and after it was done the 404ads.net/ didn't show up anymore but the page still wouldn't come up, it said this page can not be displayed.. Hopefully now that you know the whole story it will be easy to find what went wrong.

If nothing works can't I just ,I don't know what its called but clear my computer, of everything and reinstall everthing. I had a problem like this but worse no page would come up, and my uncle did that and it worked again.
