The Malware Team will deal with this

Please go here:

http://www.geekstogo..._Log-t2852.html

Run all the programmes as advised then post a current Hijack This Log in a new topic in the Malware Forum

Post a new topic when you have removed ebates

This will get rid of it for you :)

Delete an Entry from the Uninstall List
  • Open HiJackThis
  • Click on the "Config..." button on the bottom right
  • Click on the tab "Misc Tools"
  • Click on the Box that says "Uninstall Manager"
  • Click on the entry you wish to delete "Web Savings from Ebates"
  • Click on Delete this entry
  • Click "Yes"

I will let Keith handle the other question for you. Good luck :)

Set is so that you have home / office at top then the rest are optional

If you set it to standby then click advanced to remove tick from prompt for password when computer resumes from standby

Mine are monitor 10 minutes with screensave after 5 minutes

Hard disc set to never and system standby set to never

Click apply if you change anything

Whatever is at the top is the name of the power scheme being used

You can use any of the others with different setting and then change them to suit

If you make any changes to them, they won't come in to play, as only the one shown in the box will apply

Changes to the default settings do not affect the way the PC runs, other than the way it switches off when idle

Portable / laptop 15 / 20 / 30

Presentation never / never / never

Always On 20 / never / never

Minimal 15 / never / never

Max 15 / never / 20
