Hi i was wondering if u could help me remove PS guard properly.
Because everytime i run my spyware sweeper it detects two thing, one is the "PS guard" thing which is in the registry setup and a "medload". I have a feeling its updating itself and i cant seem to remove it... im posting my hijack this log. its very annoying because at times i can see that things are downloading onto my computer ever when im not working on the net.

Download smitRem.exe and save the file to your desktop.
Double-click on the file to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following;

1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

Reboot into normal mode and post the the Smitfiles.txt

Thanks.... I hope this has solved the Ps Guard thing
But i was wondering if the "medload" ad ware thing is also gone? what is medload?
I cant seem to find it in the registry even though my spysweeper says it there under "software/mm" i cant seem to find the file ... newaz i hope u can help me there... also heree is the smit remover log

Let's try Ewido then.

Please print these instructions out, or write them down, as you can't read them during the fix.

First;

Please download Ewido Security Suite it is a free version of the program.

• Install Ewido Security Suite
• When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..
  • Install background guard
  • Install scan via context menu
• Launch Ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
• The program will now open to the main screen.
• When you run Ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  
• You will need to update Ewido to the latest definition files.
  • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
  • Then click on Start Update.
• The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
  (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
• Exit Ewido. DO NOT run a scan yet.

If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update Ewido.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Now open Ewido and do a scan of your system.

• Click on scanner
• Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
• Clean anything it finds.
• Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
• Click Save report.
• Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.

Close Ewido.

Reboot into normal mode and post the Ewido log along with a fresh HiJackThis log.

Hi i will post the log first thing in the morning.... i was wondering if u could help me with the occassional shutting down of of my computer coz of lsass.exe.. it seems to be caused by the sasser virus. I have got the windows xp removal tool and the norton tool... both say its not there but ... my comp still shuts down sometimes when i connect to the net.

How can i knowif this virus is still there

Hi I scanned my computer with ewido and it found stuff. at the end of the scan when i tried to quarintine one object it kinda didnt do anything to that file. and it kept saying "cleaning up......" for really long, so i decided to just close it. I couldnt save a log file coz the entire process wasnt finished. Tho i did manage to find a lot of small old spyware on my computer.
I posting the Hijack this log in necase... i hope it helps..

Run a scan with HiJackThis and check the following object for removal:

Thanks problem regarding adware seems to be sorted out!

oh! i forgot to say that one thing still remains, ie the adware medload, thats there in the registry folder of software/mm, my spy sweeper finds it deletes it.... but again when i scan it its still there. Also i tried accessing the registry myself....but the folder and fiel cant be seen.. So i cant delete it.
