Here's the deal....I got an error saying that Dr Watson Postmortem Debugger had to close. I disabled it through regedit. Now I get this error, which pops up twice before I can finally close out of it: Explorer.Exe Application Error "0x02439ee" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "written"
Through all of this I have also found out that my task manager and registry edit will only work in safe mode. In normal mode they pop up for about 1 second and then go away. I am running Avast and Adaware SE

My system is working okay, I'm still getting the Explorer.exe errors from before, but at least I can boot up without Dr. Watson freezing my computer...same problems with Task Manager and Registry as well. Any help would be appreciated...thank you.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

Okay, I did all of the above, and it got rid of the error messages that kept popping up. However, my registry and my task manager still will not open. They flash for about a second and then close again. Here is my new Hijackthis Log:

I don't mean to be over insistent, but if you could help me out with getting task manager and the registry to run, I would appreciate it, because I really need to get my computer back to a good usable status asap. Thanks. helpsmilie.gif

Please Download LSPFix from http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm and Run the Program. Disconnect from the Internet and close all Internet Explorer Windows. Check the "I know what I'm doing" Button and remove all traces of calsp.dll. Reboot, post a fresh log.

I'm wary of this file (pun intended):
C:\WINDOWS\system32\iwarry.exe

Submit it to this Online Virus Scanner:
http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus

Let us know the results.

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):
C:\WINDOWS\system32\iwarry.exe

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. :tazz:

I am not able to delete the file. I get an access denied error. It says to make sure the disk is not full or write-protected or that the file is not currently in use. It is none of the above but I still cannot delete it.

Click Here to download TheKillbox. Extract TheKillBox.exe from the zip file and double click it to open it up. In the 'Enter Full Path and Filename to Delete' box, copy and paste these entries one by one, clicking 'Find and Kill This File' after each one:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\iwarry.exe

Click 'Exit' when done.

Note: If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run TheKillbox, download and run: http://www.javacools...ngfilesetup.exe. Then try TheKillbox again.

I ran both programs. An access error pops up that says simply: This file could not be deleted.
