I posted here a few months ago but I didn't get many responses and my problem hasn't gone away.

What happens is video/audio files that are embedded in web pages (and often, files that I try to stream/download) cause my browser (Firefox) to freeze. If they are streaming, then the player itself freezes. Attempted fixes:

Uninstall/Reinstall Windows Media Player (via the add/remove programs list)
Uninstall/Reinstall IE6 and Firefox
Download updates for WMP/browsers
Running norton, spybot, ewido

And all of those came up empty. I am at a loss as to what to do next. Any suggestions would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Open Media Player then click tools, options, performance, set the buffer to 30 seconds, click apply, close Media Player
