Removing Mcafee Splash Screen

Please Help!! I recently purchased a Dell Laptop and as part of the purchase I received Mcafee Security Center. I have no problem with Mcafee per say, but every time I start up my computer i get a screen showing I must sign in or I can't log on to the internet. Can this insideous screen be stopped. It takes forever to start up. Also How can I disable those stupid alerts that seem to show up at very inopportune times?

its a trial version of mcaffee. if you want to use it then purchase the software, otherwise go to add/remove programs in the control panel to uninstall it.
