Outlook Express>Tools> Options> Send> HTML settings> untick "Include Pictures with Messages".

Thanks, but I have already tried this procedure to no avail. After your suggestion I rechecked the settings, including a second identity.
Any more suggestions?

Do you insert file then browse to the image or insert picture from file

Howdy:
Try sending the email in "Plain Text" format rather than "Rich Text" or "HTML" !!

I insert the file, then browse to the image - a procedure that I believe would be necessary for attaching more than one file.

I have these, both set to their installed defaults
[attachment=3373:attachment]
[attachment=3374:attachment]
With Outlook Express I used add file attachment and with Outlook I used insert file
Do you have a different version
