Hi,

I have a problem with Hclean32.exe, ntfsnlpa.exe and rdsndin.exe keep re-appearing even after EWIDO quarrantines the second 2 and Norton removes hclean32.exe. Sometimes I get a norton message saying it has found cfgrbkrend.exe as well but not very often.

I have installed and used all the following tools for cleaning, re-booting after each tool:-

CleanUp!
Adaware SE Personal
EWIDO
XoftSpy
CWShredder
Spyware Cleaner
Spybot Search
PCBugDoctor
Hi-JackThis

IF ANYONE COULD HELP ME CLEAN OUT THESE LITTLE PESTS IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. I have read some of the posts others users have posted related to a similar problem

Sytem Restore is turned off and Hidden Files and folders has been allowed on my PC at this very moment.

I only have EWIDO and Norton AV and Firewall running at the moment.

My HJT Log is as follows, although I am not sure if it is clean or not:

Hi Stuart and welcome to the Geeks to Go Forums.

My name is Trevuren and I will be helping you with your log.

1. Go to Geeks to Go
. Click on My Controls at the top right hand corner of the window. (make sure you have signed in first)
. In the left hand column, click "View Topics"
. If you click on the title of your post, you will be taken there

2. Also, while at the My Controls page, check the box to the right of your post and then scroll down.
.Where it says "unsubscribe" click the pull-down menu and select "immediate email notification"

3. Please post a complete HJT log. The one you posted is missing all the running processes.

Thanks,

Trevuren

Please RIGHT-CLICK HERE to download Silent Runner's.
  • Save it to the desktop.
  • Run Silent Runner's by doubleclicking the "Silent Runners" icon on your desktop.
  • You will see a text file appear on the desktop - it's not done, let it run (it won't appear to be doing anything!)
  • Once you receive the prompt All Done!, open the text file on the desktop, copy that entire log, and paste it here.
*NOTE* If you receive any warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run.

Regards,

Trevuren

1. Copy everything in the code box below (starting with REGEDIT4) and paste it into Notepad. Go up to "File > Save As", then click the drop-down box to change the "Save As Type" to "All Files". Save it as fixware.reg on your desktop.

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"System"=-
"System"=""

2. Double-click fixware.reg and when asked if you want to merge with the registry click YES.

3. After the merged successfully prompt, please reboot your computer.

4. After reboot, please download RKFiles from HERE
  • Unzip RKfiles.zip to the desktop
  • Double-click RKFiles.bat to run it. It may take a while.
  • When it is finished a window should appear with a log.
5. Please copy the contents of the log and paste them here
  • Note: the log with be saved at c:\log.txt

We want to stop and disable an added service (023)

To stop a service and set to 'disabled'
  • Go to Start > Run and type in Services.msc then click OK
  • Click the Extended tab.
  • Scroll down until you find the service.
    ===>SpywareCleanerService
  • Click once on the service to highlight it.
  • Click Stop
  • Right-Click on the service.
  • Click on 'Properties'
  • Select the 'General' tab
  • Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side on the 'Start-up Type' box
  • From the drop-down menu, click on 'Disabled'
  • Click the 'Apply' tab, then click 'OK'
The service is now stopped and disabled.

========================================

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.
  • First we need to make all files and folders VISIBLE:
    • Go to start>control panel>folder options>view (tab)
    • Choose to "show hidden files and folders,"
    • Uncheck the "hide protected operating system files" and the "hide extensions for know file types" boxes.
    • Close the window with ok
  • Please RUN HijackThis.
. Click the SCAN button to produce a log.

  • Place a check mark beside each one of the following items:

    O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler.exe
    O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} - http://software-dl.r...ip/RdxIE601.cab
    O16 - DPF: {71057C18-0507-4747-86BC-E11CE7512C5F} (mailhelper Class) - http://register.btin...lcontrol013.cab
    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{71BCB694-36A4-4559-9F3A-62D5039A6D53}: NameServer = 69.50.176.158,85.255.112.8
    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{855C46E7-AE8C-427C-973A-8D3F66FC44A8}: NameServer = 69.50.176.158,85.255.112.8
    O23 - Service: SpywareCleanerService - Secure Computer, LLC - C:\Program Files\Spyware Cleaner\SCService.exe

  • Now with all the items selected, and all windows closed except for HJT, delete them by clicking the FIX checked button. Close the HijackThis window.

  • Reboot Your System in Safe Mode

How to use the F8 method to Start Your Computer in Safe Mode

    • Restart the computer.
    • As soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
    • Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode menu item
    • Press Enter.
  • Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and DELETE them (if they are present):

    C:\Program Files\Spyware Cleaner<===Folder
PowerReg Scheduler.exe<===You will have to Search for this one

  • Exit Explorer.

  • B. We will now delete the service:

    1. Open HJT

    2. Click on Config>>Misc Tools>>Delete an NT Service

    3. Copy/Paste SpywareCleanerService in the space provided and click OK

    4. The program will ask you to REBOOT --- Accept

    5. REBOOT into Normal Mode

    6. Finally, run HijackThis, click SCAN, produce a LOG and POST it in this thread for review.

HI AGAIN, All completed with a couple of problems (or may not be a problem):-

1. Went to stop the SpywareCleanerService, but it was already stopped, disabled it as instructed.

2. Ran HJT, could not select the following item from your list as it was not there:-
O23 - Service: SpywareCleanerService - Secure Computer, LLC - C:\Program Files\Spyware Cleaner\SCService.exe

But fixed all those I could checkmark.

3. Using Windows Explorer, I searched and only found the following file which I have deleted:-
PowerReg Scheduler.exe-15033181.pf

New HJT Log as follows:-

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [yaemu.exe] C:\WINDOWS\System32\yaemu.exe
    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{71BCB694-36A4-4559-9F3A-62D5039A6D53}: NameServer = 195.95.218.18,85.255.112.11
    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{855C46E7-AE8C-427C-973A-8D3F66FC44A8}: NameServer = 195.95.218.18,85.255.112.11

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\yaemu.exe

  • Exit Explorer, and REBOOT BACK INTO NORMAL MODE

  • Finally, RUN Hijackthis again and produce a new HJT log. Post it in the forum so we can check how everything looks now.
Regards,

Trevuren

Congratulations, your log shows that your SYSTEM IS CLEAN

There are a few things you must do once you are completely clean:

1. Re-hide your System Files and Folders to prevent any future accidents.

2. Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove bad files from the backup that Windows makes as no program is able to clean those files:

TO DISABLE SYSTEM RESTORE
  • Right-click "My Computer", and then left click "Properties".
  • Left click on "System Restore Tab"
  • Check box beside "Turn Off System Restore"
  • Left click on "Apply"
TO ENABLE SYSTEM RESTORE
  • Remove check mark from "Turn Off System Restore"
  • Click on "Apply"
Here are some tips to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future:

Make sure you keep your Windows OS current by visiting Windows update
regularly to download and install any critical updates and service packs. With out these you are leaving the backdoor open.

I strongly recommend installing the following applications:
  • Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
  • Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
  • How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.
To protect yourself further:
  • Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your coputer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
  • Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.
And also see TonyKlein's good advice
So how did I get infected in the first place? (My Favorite)

Hi Trevuren,

Many thanks for all your help. Everything seems good programs loading much faster and no sign of those little pesky critters.

I will be visiting PAYPAL in a couple of days.
