I have followed malware etc fixes, but am still having problems.

trend house call wouldn't work - "unable to run because this website is not autjorised to host housecall"

Panda activescan would run either

Nor would trojan hunter

IE takes ages to load up.

Hi there

Had problems trying to run through all the malware etc tests whilst cleaning my dads computer.
Neither online virus check wouldn't work, nor would the trojan hunter load and the IE took ages to launch for some reason, but seems to have resolved itself.
Should I worry about any of these things?
The most recent HJT log I sent was from his computer, but if you say its clean then I'll go with that.

It sounds to me like you have something very wrong with your operating system and I think that should be the focus of your attention.

Since you've had these problems, when attempting to run tried and tested programmes, I thought it might be worth just checking over your system files. You'll be glad to hear that there is an automated way in which to do this.

Here's what you do to run the system file checker. Open a command prompt (Start -> Run - type CMD and hit enter). Type in SFC /SCANNOW (note the space after SFC) and hit enter. You'll need your XP disc handy.

This will check all your system files and replace any which are different from the original Microsoft versions.
