Hello, welcome to the GeekstoGo Forums!

My name is Justin, and I will be helping you clean up your system. Lets get started!

I do not see anything blatantly obvious in your log, so lets run an online scan that will tell us if there are any infected files.

Please download Panda ActiveScan

Make sure you run this scan in Internet Explorer.

Accept default settings, and scan your computer.

Then save the log and post it in your next reply.

John,

That doesnt look like anything too bad, lets fix it! Then play around on your computer for a bit, and let me know if you are still having any problems.

1) Please download the Killbox.
Unzip it to the desktop but do NOT run it yet.

2) Then please reboot into Safe Mode by restarting your computer and pressing F8 as your computer is booting up. Then select the Safe Mode option.

3) Once in Safe Mode, please run Killbox.

4) Select "Delete on Reboot".

5) Open the text file with these instructions in it, and copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing Control-C:
C:\WINDOWS\INF\bi6.inf
C:\WINDOWS\INF\biL.inf
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\kyf.dat
6) Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".

7) Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run TheKillbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try TheKillbox again..

Let the system reboot.

Justin, thanks but no success. At boot, the CPU still climbs up to 100%, I watched SVChost in Task Manager consume 90%+. I've followed the "read first" file for malware and completed each item at least twice now...that's why at first glance things appeared clean. Anyhow...look forward to your next suggestion.

Thx, John

Hello!

Lets run this scan:

Please Download the MWAV Scanner from Here

Unzip it to its predetermined Directory (C:\Kaspersky)

Locate "kavupd.exe" in the New Folder and Double Click to Update!

If you it says the signatures are more than 30 days old, keep trying!
Keep trying until you get the actual signatures!

When you see "Updates downloaded Successfully"

Please Press Enter to Continue!

It should open automatically>Leave the "Default Settings ticked" and add a "tick" "Drives">this will light up "All Drives">Click "Scan Clean" to begin!

This Scan will take Several Hours or more to Complete,Depending on the Hard Drive Size!

Please be sure it is Completed before proceeding!

Once the Scan has finished,All entries Identified as Infected will displayed in the lower pane!

Highlight everything that is inside the lower pane and press Ctrl+C at the same time to Copy!

Open a Blank Notepad Page and Paste the results (Ctrl+V) to it!

Post those results back here!

Hello!

We are going to try a few things to try and get rid of the DrWatson errors.

First, I need you to make a new administrator account on your computer. Then log into that account and see if you still get the DrWatson error messages.

If you do not get the messages then we will transfer all of your files from you old account to the new one, and everything will work perfectly.

If you Do get the error message, then we will try the next step.

Sorry, no joy. I had actually aleady tried that technique, but since you suggested, I created another admin. Still, same DR.Watson error message. This time also a explorer error too. Perplexing.

Awaiting the next steps.

Hello!

Try opening add/remove programs and then remove all 3rd party codecs that are listed under Add/Remove Programs.

Justin, I looked but found zero items listed as CODEC or 3'rd Party CODEC. Is there a more specific search criteria?

Hello!

Sorry for the wait,

Open HijackThis.
Click Open Misc Tools Section
Click Open Uninstall Manager
Click Save List - Save it anywhere.

A notepad will pop-up after it's saved, please copy everything in that Notepad and paste it here.
