I just installed xp media on a machine . The machine would freeze, so i reformated and reinstalled now i i dont have a task bar or icons on the desktop. The start button on the keyboard wont even bring up the start menu.. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Press ctrl + alt + delete if you get task manager then click file, new task then type explorer.exe and press enter to get the taskbar, reboot and see if it loads correctly

If not, press the windows button to get the start button, click start then run, type sfc /scannow then press enter to replace the system files, you need the XP CD and get a blue bar, when the bar goes, reboot
