Hi all
Im new to this Forum.
I have a slight problem. In my taskmanager there are 2 iexplore.exe processes running.
I can't close those processes :tazz:
When I play a game, It minimizes and popups appear. This is very annoying because i play Online Games, that can't happen. I already scanned my computer with Ad-Aware with the newest definitions. It only found some tracking cookies. After that nothing has changed. :) I also tried to install a Firewall like Kerio, but it says the file is corrupt. Later i downloaded Zone Alarm and I can't install it too. This must be a kind of Trojan-horse that prevents installing Firewalls and etc. I also scanned my computer for viruses, but nothing was found. I really don't know what to do. :) Please help me.
Thanks in Advance :ph34r:

EDIT:
Ill post my newest scanning log of HJT:

Can anyone help me? :tazz:

EDIT: Well, i fixed it on my own. I installed Spybot with the newest definitions. It has found some Spyware. I fixed that, and later I immunized my system against spyware.
Now the popups are gone :) Thanks anyway for the tips.

Welcome to Geeks to Go!

Your system is infected with LOP and it's unlikely SpyBot removed all of it. If you would still like assistance, please post a new HiJackThis log into this topic for me :tazz:

Do you have Messenger Plus! 3 installed?

Run HiJackThis. Place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {CE3DCC92-6A24-5510-5540-40606DE07E22} - D:\DOCUME~1\USER\DANEAP~1\MFCDRE~1\WEB PEAK.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [once roam] D:\DOCUME~1\USER\DANEAP~1\TRUSTC~1\newthunk.exe

Close HiJackThis.

Delete the following folders (they are both there):

D:\DOCUME~1\USER\DANEAP~1\MFCDRE~1 <-delete whatever folder starts with "MFCDRE"

D:\DOCUME~1\USER\DANEAP~1\TRUSTC~1 <-delete whatever folder starts with "TRUSTC"

Download and install CleanUp!

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
  • Empty Recycle Bins
  • Delete Cookies
  • Delete Prefetch files
  • Cleanup! All Users
Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, if it does go ahead and reboot.

Then, please run this online virus scan:
ActiveScan (you must use Internet Explorer, FireFox will not work for this scan)

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log.

Well, theres a problem.
I cant delete the folder "mfdc readme meet". It says it's used by another application. :tazz:
Is there a way to bypass it?

EDIT: I tried the destroy function in Spybot but it still says its used by another application.

No problem :tazz:

SpyBot is preventing you from fixing one of the entries in HiJackThis (the first one I have in my previous instructions) So we must disable Teatimer to remove that entry then you will be able to delete the folder:

* Open Spybot.
* Click MODE, then check ADVANCED MODE, click YES
* Click TOOLS > RESIDENT.
* Uncheck Teatimer.
* Click ALLOW CHANGE.
* We will enable Teatimer after your system is clean

Then reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.

Once In Safe Mode, fix this entry in HiJackThis again:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {CE3DCC92-6A24-5510-5540-40606DE07E22} - D:\DOCUME~1\USER\DANEAP~1\MFCDRE~1\WEB PEAK.exe

Then delete that folder.

Reboot to normal mode and continue with the rest of the instructions :)

Unfortunately that doesn't work :tazz:
It still says its used by another application.
I remind, that there are 2 Iexplore.exe processes running that show the popups. Maybe we have to close them somehow?

I am aware that there are multiple iexplore.exe files running. :tazz: Don't worry about those.

At any rate, this will work:

* Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.

* Save it to your desktop.

* Run Killbox.exe.

* Select "Delete on Reboot".

* Copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them then press CTRL + C

D:\DOCUME~1\USER\DANEAP~1\MFCDRE~1\WEB PEAK.exe

* Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".

* Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

After your computer reboots, delete the folder and follow the rest of my instructions :)

Well its getting better :) There are no more iexplore.exe's running. But when i want to run activescan (with internet explorer of course) it takes a long time until it loads.

Are you on broadband?

Please do this for me:

Download Findlop by Metallica. Unzip it to your desktop.
Double click findlop.bat. When it's done, it will open a notepad file.
Copy the content of that file and paste it here.

Please RIGHT-CLICK HERE to download Silent Runner's.
  • Save it to the desktop.
  • Run Silent Runner's by doubleclicking the "Silent Runners" icon on your desktop.
  • You will see a text file appear on the desktop - it's not done, let it run (it won't appear to be doing anything!)
  • Once you receive the prompt All Done!, open the text file on the desktop, copy that entire log, and paste it here.
*NOTE* If you receive any warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run.

Please post the contents of Findlop notepad as well as the Silent Runner's log into your next reply.

That wasn't the full Silent Runner's log, did you get the "All Done" prompt?

Copy everything inside the code box below and paste it into notepad. Go up to "File > Save As", then click the drop-down box to change the "Save As Type" to "All Files". Save it as remlop.bat on your desktop.

%systemdrive%
cd D:\WINDOWS\Tasks
attrib -r -s -h A508D44C91FF46F0.job
del A508D44C91FF46F0.job

Double-click remlop.bat

This is one of the folders I asked you to delete previously, did you have any problems deleting it? Please delete it:

D:\docume~1\USER\daneap~1\trustc~1 <-whatever folder starts with "trustc".

Please download WebRoot SpySweeper from HERE (It's a 2 week trial):
  • Click the Free Trial link under to "SpySweeper" to download the program.
  • Install it.
  • Once the program is installed, it will open.
  • It will prompt you to update to the latest definitions, click Yes.
  • Once the definitions are installed, click Sweep Now on the left side.
  • Click the Start button.
  • When it's done scanning, click the Next button.
  • Make sure everything has a check next to it, then click the Next button.
  • It will remove all of the items found.
  • Click Session Log in the upper right corner, copy everything in that window.
  • Click the Summary tab and click Finish.
  • Paste the contents of the session log you copied into your next reply.
I will give you my prevention recommendations once we're done!

Post the log from SpySweeper and let me know if you had any problems deleting that folder, please!
