I have Windows XP Professional, Ver. 2002 with SP2 loaded on my PC, but when I try and do Windows updates, it's saying my VLK is now blocked. I don't want to use my company's software anymore and bought Windows XP Home Edition Ver. 2002 with SP2 so I could be guarenteed my Windows updates. How do I go about this without losing everything? If I must start over, how do I go about that as I don't want to repeat a mistake I made ages ago of formatting a drive and killing it. :tazz:

My computer is an Intel Pentium III Processor, 497MHz 384Mb of RAM. Thanks for your help. Great site!!

Howdy and welcome to G2G:

You can't.. Going from XP Pro to Home is downgrading and Windows won't let you do that.. You will have to partition, format and re-install..

Suggest you start backing up all personal docs, oics, etc now..
