Okay, after a month or so using this ATI Raedon 9550 with my computer and having shitloads of problems with certain games and none with other ones (original post: http://www.geekstogo...=42723&hl=9550) I have been advised by the dodgy bloke from the shop where I bought the card to update my motherboard and AGP slot drivers...

This is done by a process called "flashing", right? Can anyone tell me what is involved and what to do and what NOT to do... I have heard you can really screw up your motherboard if you do it a certain way.

Full instructions will be supplied on the website which supplies the BIOS update -- there's no 'one size fits all' for BIOS flashing --- each manufacturer has slightly different procedures. Just be quite certain the upgrade will do what you want it to do before you commit.

And read all the instructions and follow them very carefully or you'll end up with some rectangular furniture.
